I do not consider issue 51009 to be a duplicate of this issue, although it
probably is related to the same problem. Issue 51009 seems to be about an issue
where NO table of contents entries are rendered in the MS Word document even
before updating the index in MS Word. I tried out the attachment of 51009 using
Ooo 2.0.2, and saved to MS Word format. Opening the Word file I found that the
index is actually rendered correctly with all headings, contrary to the what was
expected by the issue 51009. So the issue 51009 seems now to no longer to be an
issue.
I also tried updating the index using within MS Word, and even the additional
headings are included. This surprised me, because my issue is that I could not
get the additional headings to be included in the index. It looks like some
improvements from version 109 have already been made to Ooo.
My issue concerns updating the index of the Word file using Word. In my example,
after an update the additional styles are not included in the index.
I investigated why the file in 51009 works but my file doesn't. The difference
is that in 51009 the additional headings are of paragraph style "Appendix
Heading" which is defined under the organizer tab as the category "conditional
styles".
So I tried also to define a style that is conditional in my test document to see
what happens when I export to MS Word. Updating the index in MS Word includes
the styles which are defined as conditional. Those additional styles which are
not defined as conditional are not included in the index after the update.
See the new test file: test02.odt, and the exported word file test02.doc (saved
before the update of the index).
