2006 -------
Just installed full compliment of OpenOffice programs. All seem to work OK if
I try to open and start a new project.

Using Windows 98SE. and downloaded without Java - wasn't clear which way to
go. Also Using AOL 9.0 SE with latest browser.

I wanted to try the OpenOffice Impress so I could open Power Point
Presentations. I received a .PPS file by E-mail and expected the Impress
Program to open it but when I try to import or open it using Impress I get a
Crashrep - "This program has perfornmed an illegal operation and will be shut
down." warning with the following information:
CRASHREP caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff7b992.

Is the Impress program not capable of opening a .PPS file? I realize PowerPoint
saves to a .PPT file.

I see the "Crashrep" error has been reported a number of times for different
programs in the OpenOffice Group and reports said it had been corrected.

Thanks,
Denis Wilson
