If I am working on a large file, it can easily take more time to save it than it does for my mouse to move from the "save" button over to the "close" button. MS Excel has the ability to recognize that I have already started the process of saving the file, and it will basically cue itself to close the document after the save has completed. OOo doesn't recognize that I've already started to save the document.
