------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jun 1 17:47:06 -0700 2006 ------- Draw's snap to grid feature does not seem to work properly. When dragging an object around the grid, the grid snaps to the mouse pointer, not the corner of the object. Thus it is difficult if not impossible to actually align the edges of an object accurately with the grid (thus defeating the purpose of snap to grid entirely). To reproduce: 1) Open a new drawing 2) Turn on the grid under "Tools" -> "Options..." -> "OpenOffice.org Draw" -> "Grid." I used 0.50" grid, 0 intermediate points. 3) Turn on snap to grid and visible grid in the same location, then close the options dialog 4) Insert a basic object (say a rectangle) using the drawing toolbar 5) Click and drag the object around the grid, noting that (a) The object snaps at the correct interval, but (b) The object's corner does not align with the grid 6) Unclick in order to drop the object, noting that the point where you originally clicked the object now seems to align with the grid, but the corner doesn't. 7) Click and drag the object, then attempt to drop the object back into it's original location. Note that 99% of the time you can't drop the object in the same spot you picked it up, because the point of snap reference seems to change each time you click the object. For me, this renders the snap to grid feature entirely useless, unfortunately. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
