------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jun 6 10:37:40 -0700 2006 ------- The scenario is the following : 1. you create a complex document 2. you tag some text parts so they can be referenced in other parts of the document (see text foo in ยง bar, bage foobar) 3. a few weeks later, when the document has gone through several edits, you notice the references have disappeared from the text, because OO.o has decided to silently remove the tag you had defined before. I suppose usually that's because you've modified some small part of the text/style of the tagged region (but every time I noticed it the bulk of the tagged region had remained unchanged) OO.o should never decide to remove such a tag without warning the user : 1. they should only be removed explicitely by the user by deleting them from the tag list or by deleting the tagged region altogether 2. even in that case OO.o should warn the user if references to these tags exist in the document (after exporting to .doc word will display these references even if OO.o hides them) As to why and when exactly OO.o removes these tags, since OO.o does not deem necessary to warn the user, and I don't spend my time consulting the tag list, I haven't the faintest idea (I don't know if "tag" is the real english word - I'm extrapolating from my localised version) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
