I'm writing a book. The frontmatter should be numbered i ... ix or something
like that. The Text should be numbered 1 ... 300. In order to change the
starting number of the page count, I have to set up a special paragraph style
that I have to use at the start of the book text. That can be done, but it's
awkward. Logically, I should be able to tie the page numbering to page
formating. It took me half an hour to find out how to kludge my way to what I
want because it was in the wrong place.

This is certainly not a hot issue for most people, but it does need to change.
