2006 -------
The reason that we don't have a selection in a floating frame is that they are
read only (this was different in OOo1.x). Of course we can select in readonly
documents but in case of a floating frame it would mean we had to send an
"activate" event to the document and this will switch the complete UI to
readonly. So we have the following choices:

- live with the current behavior
- activate floating frames once clicked into it and try to keep the UI as it is 
- enable Writer to select on inactive views

As the first option seems to be inacceptable at least for the submitter ;-) the
third one would be quite some work and possibly would create new problems we
will go for the second one. As this has to be done in the framework I will take
this over (target will be 2.x).
