Re-iterating for the sake of clarity and some confusion as to user

I have a MySQL database, version 4.1.14,production, running on
windows XP Pro.
Windows XP Pro has the latest updates and patched as of 5th July 2006.
Using OpenOffice 2, production.
Method of accessing database is via MySQL ODBC driver, v3.51,
production.
I have utilised the OpenOffice database forms browsing, using a
table definition.
The issue that is concerning me is two fold:-
(1) slow response when browsing
(2) the openOffice applications running go into a "none responsive"
state, when viewed from windows task manager.
This should be sufficient information to start to replicate the
issue.
I shall await a response from the support team....
Tis problem impacts my assessment of OpenOffice, such that
without an operational database developement environment it renders
the system unusable.
