Which tutorial are-you talking about?
To insert a file into a master document, you either use the insert button in the
navigator, or the insert command in the contextual menu of the navigator. It
works well for me on OOo 2.0.3 on both Mac OS X and Windows.
What do you call Format>Insert? If you mean the File command into the Insert
menu, or the File button into the Insert toolbar, it inserts a document into an
other document, not into a master document.
Did I missed something?
