2006 -------
I had a working OOo 1.x.x (I cannot remember exact version).
I removed all of it via KDE and also deleted the installation directories.
I downloaded OOo_2.0.3_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz, which I then unpacked.

When in the (unpacked) folder I run:
   rpm -Uvih *rpm
I get this message for each rpm:
   package openoffice.org-xxx-2.0.3-7 is already installed.
Then I run:
   rpm -q *rpm
And get this message for each rpm:
   package openoffice.org-xsltfilter-2.0.3-7.i586.rpm is not installed

I try again by running:
   rpm -Uvih --replacepkgs *rpm
I get no error messages.
Then I run:
    rpm -q *rpm
Again I get this message for each rpm:
    package openoffice.org-xsltfilter-2.0.3-7.i586.rpm is not installed

Right now, I have now Office program on my Linux computer.
Thanks in advance.
