Not solving leaves the problem as it is, and to me, they are useless because i have to use to much clicks to start my desired action. Your argument: "There is already a short-cut key" does not solve the duplicate mnemonic... Solving the duplicate leaves the user a choice. Now they do not have a choice but using the short-cut key. So, i think: solve the duplicate would enhance the product! I suggest to turn back your edits... Before that, i hope to hear from you!! I look forward to your comments..
