In addition to rollom's comment: solving this issue will also enable OOo to have
a Word compatibility mode. Such a compatibility mode can greatly help OOo's
acceptance, esp. in corporate settings (where re-training employees is a major
issue).

Remember that Word itself owes a large part of its success to its WordPerfect
compatibility mode (still available, at least partially, even in Word 2003).
