This is sometimes very useful. Document variables in Writer: It is easy to create custom variables for any OOo document accessing the DocumentInfo of a document. Idea: One can display and change user variables and normal variables within the text or check their values in a conditional field (conditional text, -paragraph and section). Of course it was not desireable to allow changing/browsing document variables using the GUI.
