I cannot check or prove this, but I have just checked some older manuscripts from autumn 2005 and January/February 2006 and these documents also contain EndNote fields and I have no recollection about having had any problems with this. So either this is a problem in the newer OO versions or EndNote has changed their field format and this caused the problem.
