------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Sep 17 06:33:43 -0700 2006 ------- Several people mentioned their concern about a negative impact of Internet access without notifying the user before. Vivid discussion on releases@openoffice.org: http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList?list=releases&by=thread&from=1500852 Some proposals to solve the problem on [EMAIL PROTECTED], too: http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList?list=pr&by=thread&from=1500852 As PR-list is private, I copy my proposal here: What about using a message box *before* Internet access is tried? The user should at least once be told that OOo wants to have Internet access and why. In that message box it should be possible to decide if you want to be informed (by this message box) the next time. _ |_| automatic update check without notification _ |_| automatic update check with notification (this message box) _ |_| no automatic update - manually possible using /tools/options/online update Bernhard --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
