there is a numberformat for datevalues "first character of month" - format
string is MMMMM. The code can be used in calc, but gets lost on save / reopen.
(The code is converted to MMM what is the short name of the month.

Easy to reproduce:
- create a new calc sheed
- enter a date in any cell (e.g. 09.05.1972)
- apply custom number format "T MMMMM JJ"
-> date shows as "5 M 72"
- save, close, reopen the file
-> date shows as "5 May 72"
