I tried it in Linux, OOo 2.0.3: put the template in my own template directory, File > New > Templates and Documents > choose Faxcover, an empty document pops up presenting a dialog box, fill in the field, confirm with ctrl+enter to close the dialog and go to the next (confirmin with alt+N gives the same result) start immediately filling the field, again alt+N (or ctrl+enter). continue until the end of the document, last confirmation shows document with field correctly filled. So in Linux seems the expected behaviour. Tomorrow I'll give a try with a Windows PC.
