The version of openoffice is the Debian package 2.0.4~rc1-1.

When opening the soon to be attached document open office closes itself during
opening the document. The console output is:

$ oowriter Ashokan\ High\ Point.doc
dirname: missing operand
Try `dirname --help' for more information.
I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale "en_US"
This should only happen once
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice: line 252:  7732 Segmentation fault
"$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"

** (process:7717): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary / abnormal
early exit ...

I^ve not yet tried openining the document with M$ word, i can do that on Monday.
I can also try with an older verision off OO.org on XP to see if its a platform
independent problem.
