------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 13 14:00:42 -0700 2006 ------- Oh great. This is probably not the right place to discuss this, but: - qwizardspp4 has been integrated by at least one policy: The issue under which the icons were checked in (Issue 58439) is marked as CLOSED WONTFIX. This means the changes should have been reverted, as Andrew suggested in the issue. - Andrew also *predicted* in this issue that changes from other CWS (which he even named) will be reverted, nonetheless the changes stayed in the CWS, and have been integrated. I am *really* surprised by this, honestly. - I got my new icons in CWS qiq from Stella (sts), so I definately did not do anything on my own here. - Requesting developers to *not* check in icons, but wait for a "synchronisation" from icon tool is, sorry, pure nonsense - how I am suspected to deliver a self-contained feature CWS if I cannot add icons here? - recently I introduced some other icons in CWS hsqlcsvstage1 - what will happen with those? I got them from Stella, too, but somehow I doubt the icon tool will reflect them - at least because I didn't tell Stella where I checked them in (since I didn't know this is necessary) All of this shows, in my opinion, that the current icon process is heavily broken. I do *not* doubt the necessity to guarantee a consistent icon set by providing all icons by the same designer (sts). But at least the forth item above proves, IMO, that the direction of synchronization must be from CVS to the icon tool, not from the icon tool to CVS. That is, introducing/changing icons would be 1. request the new icon from the designer 2. check in the new icon in a CWS 3. integrate the CWS 4. update the icon tool with the new CVS information Everything else will certainly break, again. For notification of the maintainers of the other sets, we need additional steps. I am not sure how to best address this, perhaps the sub component suggested in Issue 70355 can in fact help here. In any way, I like the idea of doing *all* icon changes via IssueZilla. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
