Using KDE 3.5.4 (from ftp://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/kde-redhat/fedora/5/i386/). Currently running OO 2.0.4 (from http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca/pub/appl/openoffice/) with no problem. OOo -2.1.288 was downloaded from same source. My way of getting out of loop was to delete /opt/OO dev directory.
