------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Oct 24 14:17:05 -0700 2006 ------- When saving spreadsheet in "Excel 5.0" format cyrillic text is damaged and on subsequent opening is displayed as question marks (see attached "saving-cyr- text.GIF" - circled in green is original file and in red - text after saving and reopening). Repro steps - 1. open attached "test-x97.xls", note the word in cell A1 and save spreadsheet in "Microsoft Excel 5.0 (.xls)" format. 2. Close Calc. 3. Open file, saved in step 1. Note that cyrillic letters are changed to question marks. Now even Excel can't properly open the file.
