------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 25 06:08:51 -0700 2006 ------- >From RF99, I found the source of the issue. It was not the Slackware builds. Unexpectedly (presumably an error) a color was added to the default color map in: <User Home Directory>/.openoffice.org2/user/config/standard.soc The added color was "Green 9". "Green 9" had the same color value as "Green 8", #23ff23. I assume that OOo stores the color of an object by its color value (#23ff23), rather than its color name. When the "Line and Filling" bar is visible, the color value is mapped back to the color name for display. I further assume that OOo uses the "last" color value in the "standard.soc" file for the color name. I've not explicitly test this beyond hand modifying the offending "standard.soc" to remove the "Green 9" entry. After removing "Green 9" from the offending "standard.soc", OOo works as expected. I expect that the learning process altered the "standard.soc" without my awareness.
