What about users who are directly upgrading from an early version of ooo2 to ooo 2.1 which had the prefs stored in ~/.openoffice.org2 ? I know they are going to be few and far between. I am trying to reduce the usage of the URL that you have used. Please use http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/faq/installing/X11.html instead. It is much simpler and covers the important points, and doesn't include all the other stuff that isn't needed for the majority of users. I have had several reports of success regarding the faq instructions, whereas some people have been confused by the content of the PDFs.
