Recently I noticed that whenever I tried to open or save a file the dialogue
listed existing files in date order rather than alphabetical order. This is
pretty horrible, so I looked for options in the dialogue to change it, and I had
a good look at the Help info too. Eventually a bit of guesswork led me to the
file

$HOME/.ooo-2.0/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Views.xcu

Deleting this file fixed the problem.

Unfortunately I don't know what I did to trigger this problem, but it seems to
me that if there is a way of changing the order files are displayed there ought
to be a documented way of changing it back again.

I will attach the Views.xcu associated with the unwelcome behaviour.

Bob
