------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Nov 29 08:36:16 -0800 2006 ------- OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 consistently crashes when copying text from a Writer document and pasting it into an e-mail in Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.8. The OS platform is Ubuntu Linux 6.10. After OO.o crashes, the text you have copied is not available from the clipboard. This means that if your data was not saved in Writer before OO.o crashed, you have lost that data. This issue is easy to reproduce and happens 100 percent of the time. I have reproduced it on different hardware. This issue did not occur with OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 on Ubuntu 6.06. This issue does NOT affect OO.o Impress and Calc. Text may be copied-and-pasted from Impress and Calc into a Thunderbird e-mail without difficulty. Only Writer suffers from this issue. Steps to Reproduce 1.Prerequisite: OS Platform is Ubuntu Linux 6.10 2.Launch OO.o 2.0.4 Writer 3.Enter some text in OO.o, such as the string, “this is a test” 4.Launch Mozilla Thunderbird ~ Mozilla Thunderbird is not installed by default on Ubuntu Linux 6.10. To install it, go to System (menu) >> Administraton >> Synaptic Package Manager.
