Possibly, this is due to a corruption. WordPerfect handles the situation by ignoring the nested footnotes. So, libwpd will do the same. The fix is in libwpd CVS and will make part of CWS fs08 that will upload updated libwpd-0.8.8. Nevertheless, I do not see this happening before the Xmas or even before New Year.
