------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Dec 11 03:45:41 -0800 2006 ------- This is a follow-up for issue 62664. In the course of issue 62664, we relaxed the encoding restrictions for dBase files, so that now Base is able to read/write dBase files in all possible (IANA) encodings, in particular UTF-8. This means that as of now, Base is able to write dBase files which cannot be read in Calc, since the respective import dialog in Calc does not offer all encodings which are allowed now. Also, the respective export dialog does not offer them, too. We should add support for all encodings to both dBase export and import. For export, this bears an additional problem: We now have two different meanings of "length". That is, a string of length, say, 14, might need more than 14 bytes when encoding with UTF-8. Thus, during export of a Spreadsheet document as dBase, Calc needs to be prepared that certain strings cannot be written, since they exceed the the dBase field length *after* being encoding (though not *before* being encoded). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
