NeoOffice and OpenOffice.org use different areas to store program settings.
There should be NO conflict with this. The problem is that NeoOffice has been
able to write to and read from a Networked drive. OpenOffice.org, beginning
with version 2.1 should have the same capability, at least for AFP drives. You
are using 2.0.4 and thus this does NOT work, no matter if you add anything to
the beginning of the drive name or not. BTW, the default drive is
/Volume/MacIntosh HD for Mac OS X, adding it does not do anything (nor should
it.) If you want to write to a different drive, then you should be able to
point to it from the mount point (this can be /Users/<username>/Desktop/<drive
name> OR /Volumes/<drive name with spaces 'escaped' with a backslash (\)
character.
I am in the process of QAing the 2.1 PPC build and it is available from
ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/2.1.0rc2_20061130.
Look for the MacOSXPPC builds. en_US is American English, en_GB is British
English and en_ZA is for South Africa. I will warn that the en_GB localization
is not working properly for the entire 2.1 build set per Shaun McDonald (he
tested Mac OS X and another build to confirm this.) There should be no
destructive code in this build as there were minor fixes from the 2.1rc1 which I
did test and approved.
I would like to know if your problem is fixed with this build.

Mac OS X QA/Test Team Lead
