Hello all!

I have a suggestion for an implementation of a new type of graph in the
OpenOffice.

I recently decided to relate two different graphs for a college work - the
number of units in function of the ground usage (residential, commercial,
industrial and others) and the total area according to the type of use.

This normally shows how commercial and industrial areas take an enormous space
if compared to residential areas. With this, one can evidence the potential of
these areas for habitation when they are found abandoned/disactivated. After
observing some pizza charts I concluded that they are fake 3D (the height means
nothing in the graph, it is only to be pretty) and had the idea to use the
height to indicate the total areas.

The result (animated in Blender) can be found here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTMBNEcdqIU
or here:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8551849887976734751&hl=en

And look at the images:
http://www.casadosonho.art.br/3D/frame_01.jpg
http://www.casadosonho.art.br/3D/frame_60.jpg

The images are the initial graph (easily realizable in the OpenOffice) and the
graph with the two crossed information using really the three dimensions.

The second one is as graphic that I've never seen, and I think that it would be
interesting to be implemented.

What you think about that?

Thanks for your attention.
