I was using OOo v2.1 till yesterday; and it worked stable for most part, except a single crash. After that crash, the recovered document lost formatting for some paragraphs, such as bold, superscript, etc. I had to do that once again. But apart from that one crash, everything was OK. Yesterday, I downloaded the latest version m197, Because it has enhanced options for "export to pdf", which I want to use for my manual. But this version hangs within a minute of opening the document. My trick to click quickly on the Headings in Navigator panel does not work. I am providing this feedback because from the algorithm point of view, something has changed for the worse in m197 as compared to v2.1. This could provide a clue for your investigation.
