The Solaris patch set thing that this issue is about is fixed. Btw, for simplicity all Unix platforms link against the library name without version number in makefiles, but linkage is actually done against the versioned library name, which can be verified with ldd, so the unversioned library name isn't needed in the installation during runtime.
