------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jan 6 21:20:59 -0800 2007 ------- Hi there, I wanted to write a text cell with the contents "-rhoAcw" (no quotes). If I just type it, the cell shows up with #NAME? If I type it with a leading apostrophe, the apostrophe remains visible But If I type an "x" with a leading apostrophe, the apostrophe disappears. Each of the above were tested in a completely empty worksheet. Sometimes, if I type '-rhoAcw' again somewhere else, I see #REF! I am doing anything funny here other than just typing into cells. Maybe there are some special ways of doing these things in OpenOffice. But I found the above quite unintuitive. Is there not a simple way of typing exact text strings into a cell? Seems to me that the logic for parsing numerical/string values might be a bit ambiguous.
