I had to give a extra string to it, like $(mktmp "foo") to create a tmp file. Or it returns nothing, which is really bad. @rt: to 1.): $(mkstemp) doesn't exist, "friends seems to be:" $(mktmp "foo") seems the right. to 2.): You are right.
