No idea - I have a dual CPU laptop, multi-CPU desktop machines are already
almost standard (Intel-wise), so - hr's optimisation is of limited use IMHO.

If you're worried about the 'ugliness' factor, indeed poking at the internals of
rtl_uString is somewhat less than pleasant. Instead if there was an '=='
operator that took a const rtl_uString * in ustring.hxx there would be no
problem ;-)

Unfortunately, changing sal/ is not a rewarding task IMHO :-) [ cf. incidentally
the vos:: usage in configmgr ;-].
