In Writer this is a 'normal' but sometimes annoying feature. All database fields are recorded using their "registered-databasename.fieldname" Changing the database makes the fields unusable. A workaround was to change the connected filename like old.dbf into new.dbf in the registered database name in OpenOffice (like addresses).
