I use PP presentations with motion paths for many of the automation subjects I teach. I REALLY need this issue fixed NOW so I can complete my migration to OOo2. I see many quibbles about how this issue should be tracked, but nothing about any action taken to fix it. Unfortunately my programming skills aren't up to the task to tackle the problem, or I'd gladly fix it myself.
