------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jan 27 22:51:34 -0800 2007 ------- Client side is a Ubuntu 6.10 ( Edgy ) install. Server side is Debian 3.1 - uname -a: 2.6.8-3-686-smp #1 SMP Tue Dec 5 23:17:50 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux The server has been running as my nfs server for the previous version of OOo, 1.1 (something) and I didn't ever see this error. However the issue is when I open files on the nfs server they only open in read-only mode. If I copy the file to the local client, the file opens fine. Testing of permissions shows the the permissions for the nfs mount are fine as editing text files in vi etc work fine. This link highlights the issue, and the subsequent fix I have used to allow me to open files on the nfs server: http://www.theopenstandard.com/blogs/adam/index.php?/archives/42-OpenOffice.org-file-locking-causing-problems-over-NFS.html The fix does seem a bit strange, and the date of the posting is now quite old. Since this wasn't a probem in the previous version of Ubuntu, I thought it might be worth noting for someone to be aware of. I have set my soffice script with the mentioned fix and have subsequently been able to open the file with out an issue. My concern is, this doesn't seem "safe". --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
