There was a problem when our employees tried to link cells of different
spreadsheets. They saved the spreadsheets after editing them, but they also took
these spreadsheets with them to work on them later on. So when they opened these
spreadsheets OOo had been clever and asked patiently whether it should update
the links. The documents that had been linked were not there so the users
clicked on NO. Ok, that leaves the information in the cells like they were, but
the links to the cells have been completely wrong. So that is what I have done:

Created New Spreadsheet, entered Information some cells:
A2 Terry Pratchett
A3 Wolfgang Hohlbein
A4 Marion Zimmer-Bradley
Saved the Document as Authors.ods under $HOME/Documents and created another
Spreadsheet and entered new Information:
A2 Das Buch
A3 Die Nebel von Avalon
A4 Die Gelehrten der Scheibenwelt
Saved the Document as Books.ods under $HOME/Documents. So both spreadsheets are
open but saved. In Books.ods I wanted to link the names of the authors from
Authors.ods, therefor I entered '=' e.g. in B2 and clicked on the corresponding
cell in Authors, A3. So I could see the link, reading:
"file:///$HOME/Documents/Authors.ods'#$Sheet1.A3. After that I clicked on Save
and closed the spreadsheet for the books. On the command line I moved Books.ods
to my home directory (mv $HOME/Documents/Books.ods $HOME/) and now wanted to
open it again. OOo created a dialog: "The file contains links to other
documents. Should they be updated?" So I thought that would mean the links
themselves will _not_ be changed after I clicked on NO. Unfortunately the links
are changed _before_ the dialog appears, and so I would say that only the
information the former links had pointed to are not updated. Because in B2 the
link changed to 'file:///$HOME/Authors.ods'#$Sheet1.A3. So the problem I have is
the broken link ... I moved Books.ods but not Authors.ods...
So I thought "What happens to the links when I move it back?" I wanted the
effect the other way by entering data to the opened document Books.ods, B3
='file:///$HOME/Documents/Authors.ods'#$Sheet1.A4, saved the information and
closed the file again. After moving it back to the Documents folder (mv
$HOME/Books.ods $HOME/Documents/Books.ods) I wanted to open it again, saw the
dialog and clicked on NO again. Now the links are looking very funny, though the
information the presented was correct. That is how the information looks like:
2 'file:///$HOME/Authors.ods'#$Sheet1.A3 (visible: "Wolfgang Hohlbein")
3 'file:///$HOME/Documents/Documents/Authors.ods'#$Sheet1.A4 (visible: "Marion
Zimmer-Bradley")
So when I tried to click Yes on the update dialog it would not find the
information because the link is completely incorrect. Could You please help
here?

Thank You for everything,
Angie
