I checked with "2.0.2  German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and can not
confirm that problem, seems to be a user error.

To find cells that begin with "Bill & Bob", you have to use "^Billy & Bob" as
search string (with "Regular Expressions" enabled. Having "Billy + Bob" as
replace string, in my test document all strings "Billy & Bob" were replaced by
"Billy + Bob", if "Billy & Bob" was at the beginning of the cell.

Please explain why you used ".*" in your search string.
Please use my "test.ods" for further tests and explications .
