That way you can have people like myself who have wanted it for years able to use and test the option. A warning in the config area where you turn it on and off saying it is an alpha option would discourage those who didn't need it. You could also say feedback would be appreciated on the use of the option. I'd rather have the option available so I could at least try it out than to not have it at all.
