An empty tag shall contain an ending slash / according to the standard. The break shall be coded as <BR/>. That web browsers are forgiving is not an excuse to not following standards. See http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#h-4.6 Please review if the coding of other empty tags contain ending slashes.
