------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 22 10:12:29 +0000 2007 ------- Windows XP, Chinese (Traditional characters). OpenOffice Impress 2.0.1, Chinese (Traditional characters). 1. Take any file, "a.ppt". 2. Open this file first in OpenOffice Impress. Don't close it. 3. Now try to open it in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. You cannot. 4. If you open them in the reverse order, you can. *** Now do the following: 1. Make a shared directory (Windows Network Neighborhood). Make "X:\a.ppt" (remote) point to your original "a.ppt" (local). 2. Those two files can be opened at the same time by OpenOffice Impress. They can also be opened at the same by by Microsoft PowerPoint. The 2nd instance becomes read-only. 3. If you open those two files by two different softwares, you get the same problem. Is it an OpenOffice problem or a Microsoft problem? Thanks.
