Grid color can be changed in Tools.Options.OpenOffice.Appearance.
For the aspects named by "it would be nice..." please file an "Enhancement"
issue. These will be handled apart from each other.
Problem, that the grid does not line up when st to e.g. 1/8 inch can be
confirmed. Thas will be handled in this issue.
