I am a native English (American) speaker, and I don't think I've ever even seen
"gage" in normal usage. My unabridged English (American) dictionary lists
"gage" as an alternate spelling, and even as an alternate it says "chiefly for
technical usage". You could also look up "gage" and "gauge" on Wikipedia, for
instance, or dictionary.com. Also, please note that in my original message, I
pointed out that I had read Issue 43600. There was nobody listed as accepting
English spelling corrections then, and there still isn't, thus I filed an issue
against "lingucomponent", as specified.
