2007 -------
This problem seems to occur in writer. It seem to be "random" in terms of the
time at which it occurs however, it appears to occur fairly soon after OO is
opened and I use the mouse or the keyboard combination ALT-F to select a menu
item. I thought I might have been a hardware problem because of what appeared
to be the "sensitivity" of the "freeze" in that when I slowly used the ALT-F to
select File it seemed to quickly freeze whereby the mouse would sill move around
the screen but no keyboard or mouse actions seemed to be acted upon.
CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE did not work either. ALT-TAB did not scroll through the
applications. I had to ssh into the box. Even killing the openoffice process
didn't seem to work. I can't remember what the TOP output was.
