------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Apr 14 11:33:11 +0000 2007 ------- Sometimes when removing a block of text the word/character count is wrong: it reports the count before the text was removed, not the current count. This can be most clearly seen by performing "Select All" then doing "Word count", and noting that the selection counts and total counts are different. I haven't found out how to reproduce it, and if I save a document while it is experiencing this problem and then reload it, then the problem disappears, suggesting it's a problem with OOo's state, not with the document's state. [Aside: I tried to see if this bug had already been reported, but when I search your bug database using the link I found from the issues page, it ORs my search terms and presents me with many duplicate closed bug reports (I tried "count selection" as my search terms). Or I can use the different, much more complicated interface that I get from the "My issues" page, and find nothing of relevance, possibly because it's only searching the bug summaries. I seem to have a choice between wasting my time and potentially wasting yours if I file a duplicate. I appreciate that in a product such as OOo where not everyone is using the latest version you need to keep closed bugs visible in order to avoid their being reported again, but surely you can merge dups? At the moment keeping closed bugs visible is having the opposite effect, i.e. encouraging more dups.] --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
