It would be very elegant if it was possible to have different columns in 
different paragraphs. Unfortunately there is no columns tab in paragraph 
styles. It's only possible to select number of columns in page styles and frame 
styles.

If this was possibly, a whole new world of intuitivity would open, at least for 
me. I could use two (for example) different paragraph styles in a frame, one 
with one column and one with two columns. I could apply numbering on the two 
column paragraph and it would work like expected (which not is the case if 
using a table, since the numbers in that case goes horisontally rather than 
vertically, if I didn't miss something).

Just believe me, it would be sooo great! And very intuitive too.
