2005 -------
When the user select "Export as PDF" menu item (or File>Export) OOo will create
a new file without loosing the current OpenDocument one. 
However, the routine first present the Warning message "this document may
contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in ...."

I think this message is unneccessary in this context. There will be no data loss
at all since a different file is created. It only scares people without a singel
reason. OOo 1.1.x didi not presented this message.
