2007 -------
Start new Calc document
Place values in Sheet2.A1:A4
Select Sheet1.A1:A4
Data:Validity ...
Select Cell Range
Type "Sheet2.A$1:A$4" in Source field
Click OK
Notice drop downs in Sheet1.A1:A4 will work

Now save as Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP doc.xls
Close doc.xls
Reload doc.xls
Notice cells Sheet1.A1:A4 will not behave properly and when you look at the
"Validity ..." the Source field is blank.

Note: this problem does not occur when validity is on the same sheet.
