Someone advised me to "vote" for this issue. But I can see from the long tails on these threads, laced with philosophical declarations about how "Excel is broken", and "we are the good guys", that this serious problem will always be present. So I'll have to use the only solution available to me. I'll just use Excel. It works for me, I can interchange spreadsheets with others without headaches and I trust it. And since I'll have Excel, I don't need OO Calc anymore.
